R12 DXF for older machines and material-based unfolding

Four unfolding improvements, based on a tester’s feedback, arrive in “3D import”. Like the rest of 3D import, they are open to everyone.

In 3D import

  • “DXF format:” offers “Standard (2013)” or “R12 — legacy machines”, for older CNC controllers that show nothing from a recent DXF. R12 cannot carry its units: set your cutting software to millimeters.
  • The main setting is now “Material:”, with “Steel 0.38”, “Alu 0.40” and “Stainless 0.44”; the “K factor:” stays adjustable for fine tuning.
  • A blank computed with another material or DXF format is flagged “needs recompute”. “Unfold all & add to project” recomputes it, and the banner states the credits used: one per recomputed part.
  • Two different parts with the same overall size are no longer merged into one. A ⚠ in the “Qty” column flags a “Borderline grouping”: check before cutting the whole series from a single flat blank.

In 2D nesting

  • The same evening, a “Nesting…” progress bar was added to show the progress of free-form runs.
