Since the late afternoon of October 19, the “Bar nesting” cutting plan has been reorganised to read at a glance, on screen as on a phone. The calculations do not change: only the presentation does.
The essentials first
- A single summary at the top of the plan: material utilisation, then bars, offcut, saw setups, married cuts and material cost, with no figure repeated.
- Actions are arranged in two groups, “Workshop” and “Export”; the view selector, “Large type” and “Enlarge the plan” sit just above the bars.
- “Reading the plan” explains each mark with a small sample: setting badges, reusable or lost offcut, married cut, mirror variant, hidden edge.
- The parts legend shows all of them, sorted by part mark, in the colour of the drawing and with the quantity placed in the plan.
Zoom and navigation
- The plan zoom enlarges the bars from 150 % to 400 %; the ruler stays at the top of the screen and all bars scroll together. With a mouse, the drawing can also be dragged.
- “Go to bar” takes you straight to a bar; each bar shows its number, yield and offcut at the top.
- On a phone, bars keep a readable width and scroll sideways instead of being squeezed.
A sharper drawing
- On screen, part marks and dimensions are larger and higher in contrast; lost offcut is hatched, reusable offcut is green, and saw cuts are drawn.
- Hidden edges of the cuts appear as dashed lines, as in the per-part report: the back-wall cut of a mitre in front view, the underside cut of a bevel in top view.
The exported PDF keeps its layout and benefits from the same colours and hidden edges.
