On the evening of October 13, the app got a new look: a new Cut to Fab logo, blue tones, a single typeface and rounded panels. On the morning of October 14, the navigation rail and 2D nesting followed.
A rail on the left, panels beside it
- The left rail (“Home”, “Project dashboard”, “3D import”, “Bar nesting”, “2D nesting”…) stays on screen inside the modules.
- Each module keeps its inputs in collapsible panels: “Parts”, “Stock” and “Settings” in Bar nesting; “Blanks”, “Sheets” and “Settings” in 2D nesting; “Parts”, “Detection” and “File” in 3D import.
- The plan appears on the right; in 2D nesting, “Nest the sheet” moves to the top of the plan. Your account and your analysis credits are in the top bar.
2D nesting: sheets, panels and plates
The “Sheet metal 2D” module is now called “2D nesting”: the name makes clear that it lays out your parts on sheets, panels or plates, in metal, wood or glass. The calculations do not change. The home screen says the same for Bar nesting: bars, tubes and profiles in metal, wood, PVC or aluminum.
A more direct home screen
The home screen offers illustrated shortcuts to 3D import, Bar nesting, 2D nesting and, since October 14, “Quote”. Quotes, still under development, are for signed-in accounts: without an account, this shortcut invites you to sign in or create one.
