Cut to Fab opens to the public at app.cut-fab.com

Since August 27, 2026, Cut to Fab has been open to the public at app.cut-fab.com. The application runs in your browser with nothing to install; your projects are saved there, and an optional account syncs them from one computer to another.

What the application does

  • Bar nesting: optimizes your cut list across your bars, with saw kerf, miters and bevels, “Married cuts”, “Group by angle” and reusable offcuts flagged.
  • A dimensioned cutting plan, bar by bar, to print or export as PDF, CSV or DXF; an existing cut list loads with “Import CSV”.
  • 2D nesting (then called “Sheet metal 2D”): blanks placed on a sheet, rectangular or free-form, with contours imported from DXF and the layout exported as DXF.
  • 3D import: STEP, IGES or BREP files, and “Recognise all profiles” to turn tubes and profiles into cut parts.
  • Sheet metal unfolding: “Generate blank” unfolds a bent part and provides a DXF with outline, holes and bend lines.
  • Interface in French and English.

Added the same day

  • 2D nesting: “Shear (straight cuts, back-gauge sheet)” mode, with a printable “Back-gauge sheet”.
  • Cutting plan: “Dimensioning” and “Origin” settings, and a large preview of miter and bevel cuts from the “Cuts” column.

The application can be tried without an account; PDF, CSV and DXF exports from bar nesting and 2D nesting now require a verified free account, as explained in the September 1 post.
