And the cloud save tells you when it could not keep a project.

One DXF, several parts

In 2D nesting, “+ Import DXF” only kept the largest contour of the drawing. When the file holds several, a window opens: each closed contour becomes a part, and a contour enclosed in a part stays a hole of that part.

The preview numbers the parts: wheel to zoom, drag to pan, click to keep or drop a part. The list gives the mark and quantity of each one, and “Group identical parts” merges the copies, except mirrored ones.

“Size” sets the drawing to the width or height you want, keeping its proportions, and “File size” returns to the original.

“Pierced plate” does the opposite: the contours become holes in a plate, with an adjustable margin.

“Add to nesting” sends the kept parts with their real contours.

Cutting length and manufacturing warnings

Each part shows its cutting length, holes included, and its number of pierces. The totals of the kept parts are at the bottom of the window.

The “Cutting kerf”, prefilled with the kerf from the settings, is the reference: a part smaller than two kerfs, a hole smaller than the kerf or a passage narrower than it turns orange.

“Drop the flagged parts” removes them all in one click.

Files read more completely

Blocks are exploded, scale, rotation and arrays included. Ellipses and splines are read as true curves, and paper space is ignored.

The unit declared in the file is applied and can still be changed (“Drawing unit”); with no declared unit, millimetres are assumed.

Layers can be ticked one by one, and those turned off or frozen in the file are left out by default.

An open contour shows in red and makes no part; “Close gaps up to” closes it with a straight joint.

Cloud save: no more silent refusals

With an account signed in, each project is also saved to the cloud. If the cloud refuses to keep a project, for instance because your plan’s project limit is reached, the indicator turns red, “Cloud refused”, instead of showing “Saved”.

Its tooltip gives the reason, and a click retries the save. Until it is resolved, the project stays in your browser but not in the cloud: export it before switching computers.

Saving now sends only the projects you changed, instead of all of them at every pause. It is lighter, and on the Workshop plan, a workstation no longer rewrites projects it has not touched.

A DXF holding several contours now splits into parts to nest, and a project the cloud refuses to keep is finally flagged.

[6

post-93","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-mises-a-jour
["GET
